Law Enforcement Training - Tina was part of a training for the Miami Dade police Special Victim’s Unit at the Internet and Cyber Safety Symposium.

 

Helping social workers and law enforcement to understand what the victim is going through, and feeling, can help them support the victim during the crisis stage. 

 

Her talk included:

  • What the experience was like as a victim of cyber harassment 

  • The impact it had on her life – socially, economically, professionally

  • Details of how it manifests emotionally for victims– Isolation, fear, frustration, shame

  • What worked and what didn’t work to solve it – contacting Google, “Right to be Forgotten”, contacting individual websites, DMCA (digital millennium copyright act) and hiring SEO experts. 

  • Discussion on how it can happen to anyone
